How to Tell If Someone Has Snapchat Plus
No, people cannot see that you have Snapchat Plus. For the Snapchat Plus badge we mentioned earlier, the feature is turned off by default. So, if you do not want people to know that you have Snapchat Plus, you need not do anything. However, if you want people to know that you are a Snapchat Plus subscriber, you can turn on the badge using the steps below:
- Go to your profile
- Tap on your Snapchat+ membership card at the top of the screen
- Toggle to turn on Snapchat+ Badge
Do Friends Know You Have Snapchat Plus?
No, users cannot know if you have Snapchat Plus even if they are your friends. Snapchat allows you the ability to keep your Snapchat Plus status hidden from everyone. This allows you to enjoy the special features like being able to see your friends’ location history, without making them feel uncomfortable. So, unless you turn on the Snapchat Plus badge, not even your friends can see that you have Snapchat Plus.
Can You Tell if Someone Has Snapchat Plus?
No, you cannot tell if someone has Snapchat Plus, just as they cannot tell if you have it. The only way you can know without being intrusive is if the person has enabled the Snapchat+ badge on their profile. As far as the feature is turned off, you cannot tell if they have Snapchat Plus.
Can Someone Tell If You Have Snapchat Plus?
With the answers provided so far, you may want to know if there are other ways for someone to find out that you have Snapchat Plus. Well, the answer is, yes, there are ways users can figure out that you have Snapchat Plus even if you don’t have the Snapchat Plus badge turned on. We have listed some of the ways below:
1. If You Tell Them That You Can See Their Path on Snap Maps
Say you get excited and tell your friend that you can see where they have been in the last 24 hours on Snap Maps, they can easily deduct that you have Snapchat Plus…that’s if they are aware of the Snapchat+ features. While this feature can be a good thing when safety, security or documentation is concerned, some people may find it uncomfortable that you can tell where they have been. We recommend caution in making your use of the feature publicly known. Also, if you are concerned about having friends with Snapchat Plus seeing your own path, you can clear your Ghost Trails using the steps we provided at the start of the article.
2. If You Tell Them That You Pinned Them to the Top of Your Best Friends List
Another way your friend can figure out that you have Snapchat Plus is if you tell them that you pinned them to the top of your Best Friends List as #1 BFF. This would, of course, make them feel special because you can only have one pinned #1 BFF at a time. However, it will also let them know that you have Snapchat Plus. Unfortunately, you cannot make a friend feel that special without revealing your Snapchat Plus subscription status.
Does It Show If You Have Snapchat Plus?
By default, there is no indication on your profile that you have Snapchat Plus. So, the short answer would be No, it does not show if you have Snapchat Plus.
However, if you enable the Snapchat Plus badge, then it is visible to all users who access your profile that you have Snapchat Plus. Another way users can see that you have Snapchat Plus is if you customize your Snapchat icon to something other than the standard yellow and white icon. If the person goes on your phone and sees the different Snapchat icon, they can tell that you have Snapchat Plus. If the person does not have access to your phone, there is no way they can see your new Snapchat icon.
How to Hide Snapchat + Plus Icon
With the point above, you may want to change your Snapchat icon to the original and standard Snapchat icon so people can’t tell that you have Snapchat Plus. In that case, please follow the steps below to restore your original Snapchat icon:
- Go to your profile
- Select the Snapchat Plus membership card
- Tap on App Icon
- Then select the first icon on the list. It is the standard Snapchat icon for every user That way, you can hide the fact that you have Snapchat Plus even if someone goes on your phone.
How to Tell if Someone Has Snapchat Plus
If you want to know if someone has Snapchat Plus, you may have to get smart about it. Here are some tips:
1. Ask Them If People Rewatch Their Stories
You could bring up a conversation about how users engage with your content. Then ask them if people ever get to watch their stories more than once. If they answer in a way that shows that they are aware, then you know they have Snapchat Plus. Contrary to what people hoped for, the rewatch count does not show which friend exactly watched the story more than once, so you’re quite safe on that.
2. Ask Them If They Can See Your Path On Snap Maps
Another way to find out if your Snapchat friend has Snapchat Plus is by asking them if they can see your location trail or path on Snap Maps. If they can see your location trail on Snap Maps, then you are pretty sure that they have Snapchat Plus.

Features of Snapchat Plus
1. Seeing How Many Friends Watched Your Story More Than Once
Normally on Snapchat, you are able to see people who watched your story by swiping up from the bottom of the story to see who viewed it. However, you would not know if friends have watched your story more than once. With Snapchat Plus, you can see how many friends viewed your story more than once. You would know this if you see the eyes 👀 icon under the story. Please note that the number beside the eyes 👀 icon shows how many friends rewatched the story, not the number of times the story was rewatched.
2. Pinning A Friend To The Top Of Your Friends List As BFF
With Snapchat plus, you can pin a friend to the top of your friends list as your #1 BFF. Normally, if you and a friend are each other’s top friends for at least 2 weeks in a row, you become BFFs with a red heart next to your names. Now you can choose any friend, even if they were not already a BFF to be your number one BFF. Please note that you can only pin one #1 BFF at any given time. To do this:
- Go to the Chat or Send To screen
- Press and hold the friend
- From the menu that appears, tap on Pin As Your #1 Best Friend
3. Change The Snapchat Icon With Several Exclusive Snapchat Icons (Not Yet Available on Android but Coming Soon)
With Snapchat Plus, you no longer have just the standard yellow Snapchat icon. You have access to about 30 icons to choose from, including ones in your country colours, LGBTQ colours, and some fun ones like ghosts and so on. To change your icon:
- Go to your profile
- Select the Snapchat Plus membership card
- Tap on App Icon
- Then select the icon you want to use
5. A Star Icon Next To Your Snapchat Profile Name
There are already several badges and stars on Snapchat. However, with Snapchat Plus, you get a special badge which is a white star in a black circle next to your name on your profile page.
6. Ghost trails on Snap Maps
This will allow you to check the location history of friends for the past 24 hours. This may be a tad creepy but thankfully, the Ghost Trail feature only works if the friend is sharing their location with you in the first place. Also, this feature will not work if Snapchat Plus is not available in the country where the friend lives. Sharing location is optional. If a friend has this turned on, you can view their location trail in the last 24 hours by:
Tapping on your friend’s Bitmoji on the Map Their Ghost Trail will be revealed for the last 24 hours
You can clear your own Ghost Trail so friends do not see your location history by:
- Going to Snap Map settings
- Toggle Ghost Mode on
- Then toggle Ghost Mode off
- This will clear your Ghost Trail It is suggested that most of these features may be made available to standard users in the future, but in the meanwhile, you can only enjoy them if you have Snapchat Plus. It is also important to note that Snapchat Plus does not remove ads.
