If rumors are to be believed, then search giant Google plans to showcase the 2nd generation Nexus 10 2, which would be competing with Apple’s iPad. However, there are some mixed reactions around the Nexus 10 2. Some media reports claimed that the V510 from LG could possibly be the second generation Nexus 10. However, this was the LG G Pad, 8.3-inch slate by the Korean handset manufacturer. There are strong rumors that the search giant might decide to not launch the Nexus 10 2 in the market and might even announce retirement for the Nexus line up. Meanwhile, another report claims that the Nexus 6 will be launched on 17 May this year. As per the report, LG will be gearing up for a neck to neck battle with its arch nemesis Samsung. Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S5 flagship phone at around the same time so as to gain a competitive edge in the fast growing smartphone segment. The Lenovo-Motorola deal which was inked only a few days back clearly suggests that LG might no longer be involved with the upcoming Nexus smartphone. Google sold Motorola unit to Lenovo through a 2.9 billion dollar agreement. Once all the formalities are sorted out, Lenovo will emerge as the third biggest smartphone vendor in the market.
